Spiritual Formation Overview
Holding their Hearts
Each member of our Faculty and Staff considers their work at CCS a calling. We view the spiritual aspect of the student’s education as our highest priority. Every young heart God places in this community is on a faith journey, and we intend to hold them well in a safe space to grow, mature, and encounter the unfathomable love of Christ.
Chapel
Weekly chapel services play a key role in the spiritual and personal development of Calvary students. These gatherings provide a dedicated time for students to come together in worship, reflection, and community. In our age-appropriate chapel experiences, students have the opportunity to deepen their relationship with God through prayer, music, and biblical teachings. These services provide a moment of pause in the week, allowing each community member to realign priorities and focus their hearts on Christ. Chapel nurtures a sense of belonging and unity within the school community, strengthening bonds among students and faculty through shared faith experiences. Our learners are challenged to apply their faith practically in their daily lives, preparing them to be compassionate servant-leaders.
An Annual Theme Drives the Course
Each spring term a group of students meets to determine the next year’s theme for Spiritual Formation on campus. Through a series of experiences from prayer, scripture reading, reflection, conversation, and collaborative sharing, the group discerns a word or phrase to represent their hope for God’s good work in the coming season. The theme for the 2026-27 school year is Evergreen. Expressing our reliance on the boundless love of an enduring God, the theme is drawn from Ephesians 3:16-18.
Bible Instruction at Every Level
Every learner at Calvary receives formal Bible instruction in the classroom setting. This intential daily focus fosters spiritual growth and foundational life tools to help students navigate challenges they face both now and in the future. Bible class sessions provide a consistent opportunity for students to deepen their understanding of biblical teachings, godly values, and personal faith. Students explore timeless wisdom and loving guidance through Scripture memory and study, creative projects, introductions to Biblical characters, Bible Story reinactments, exploration of Christian charity and service, and most of all a consistent exposure to Christ’s love for them.
