Evergreen

On Friday, August 7, the entire CCS Faculty and Staff met off-campus to begin the year with an intentional focus on the ministry of reaching this generation. At our Staff Retreat we reviewed what had happened at the annual Innovations Dinner this past spring. Seventeen rising seniors shared in a thoughtful discussion. We talked through and prayed over a theme for spiritual formation and our campus culture this coming school year. These students expressed a longing to explore and experience a sense of consistency as a follower of Christ. A perspective on growth through challenges, tenacity that comes from the ever-presence of a loving God.

Inspired by these students, our school-wide theme for the 2026-2027 school year is:Evergreen.

Our focus verses was also brought up by the seniors at the Innovations Dinner.

Consider Paul’s prayer for spiritual strength for the members of the Church at Ephesus, Ephesians 3:14-19:

14 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love,18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Through Paul’s words, we are reminded to “bow before the Father” on behalf of our students, recognizing it’s our Father’s desire that each of them may be strengthened in their inner self, through the Holy Spirit. So, since we are “rooted and grounded in love” let us increase our understanding of how high, wide, deep, and long is God’s love for us and for our students. This is us being Evergreen, because of Christ, and inviting our students into the consistency of an Evergreen faith, because of our consistent source, He is Christ!
